Summary...
Our visits to San Francisco and Redwood Shores has been quite productive. So
far, we've been able to create a servlet and an EJB, test the servlet internally, and deploy the EJB externally
to WebLogic.
Here's a quick summary of where we've been and what we did.
Along the way, we tried out the following:
- Using the ubiquitous File | New to create objects
- We also played with the System Navigator window and used the "right click"
menus from the Navigator.
- We used these to set up a workspace and a project - then create a sevlet, an
EJB, a weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, an EJB deployment for WebLogic.
- We started up BEA WebLogic's example configuration and connected to it from
JDeveloper
- We saw how to test a servlet in JDeveloper's internal Oracle 9i Application
server.
- Then we tested the EJB - first using a simple console application, and then
using a servlet from Tomcat.
That's about all the time I've got today. If you don't get all that working,
let me know. Or even if you do.
Otherwise, I'm headed into town... Till next time, Hop on.
